Prince and Princess Rupprecht of Bavaria have been in China, where they met with the Dowager Empress.  According to the latest dispatch from the Marquise de Fontenoy,  the couple are now "likely to hasten home as fast as the Transiberian railroad can taken them."

They have "just received from Germany: the news of the death of their nine-month-old daughter, Princess Irmingard, who had been left behind in the care of her maternal grandmother, Duchess Karl Theodor in Bavaria.

Prince and Princess Rupprecht have one other child, a son, Prince Luitpold. who is about to celebrate his second birthday, and, "who will, if he lives, become in due course king of Bavaria."

The death of their infant daughter will "put an end" to the prince and princess returning to Europe by way of the United States.

Princess Irmingard Maria Therese José Cäcilia Adelheid Michaela Antonia Adelgunde of Bavaria was born on September 21, 1902.  She died April 21, 1903.  The cause of death was diphtheria.
